Liaison with Non-Accepting Entities:<\/p><p>We initiate a refund process only after:<\/p><ul><li>Receiving a letter from you stating non-acceptance by the relevant entity.<\/li><li>Contacting the entity to verify the reasons for non-acceptance and attempting to facilitate acceptance.<\/li><\/ul><p>Instances of non-acceptance often stem from misconceptions about deed polls or administrative errors.<\/p><p>Please note that we have not yet encountered a situation requiring a refund under our acceptance guarantee.<\/p><p>1.2. Exceptions to Acceptance Guarantee:<\/p><p>The acceptance guarantee does not apply in the following cases:<\/p><p>1.2.1. Non-UK Record Holders:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee applies only to UK entities, excluding those outside the UK.<\/li><\/ul><p>1.2.2. Non-British Nationals:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee excludes foreign nationals, irrespective of residence status. Foreign nationals should check the requirements of their country of origin before ordering a deed poll, but we are unable to advise on or guarantee the outcome of using a deed poll to change your name.<\/li><\/ul><p>1.2.3. Provision of Incorrect Information:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee is void if inaccurate information is supplied by the applicant.<\/li><\/ul><p>1.2.5. Improperly Executed Deed Polls:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee does not cover errors in signing, dating, or witnessing of deed polls. A how to guide is provided when your deed polls are posted, it is your responsibility to follow this correctly.<\/li><\/ul><p>1.2.6. Name Format Incompatibility:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee excludes rejection due to name format issues, such as length, symbols, or numbers.<\/li><\/ul><p>1.2.7. Unacceptable Names:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee does not apply if the chosen name is deemed unacceptable by the record holder.<\/li><\/ul><p>Whether a change of name falls into this category will be the subjective opinion of the record holder (or their staff).\u00a0 However, names of this sort are likely to include anything which:<\/p><ul><li>is unpronounceable or incomprehensible<\/li><li>is extremely long<\/li><li>is vulgar, offensive or blasphemous<\/li><li>is chosen for a bet or frivolous purpose<\/li><li>is trade-marked (e.g.\u00a0<em>Red Bull<\/em>) and is not a (potentially) \u201cnormal\u201d name such as\u00a0<em>Fred Perry<\/em>or\u00a0<em>K MAXX<\/em><\/li><li>is a combination of names which makes up a saying not normally considered to be a name, e.g.\u00a0<em>Merry Christmas<\/em><\/li><li>is a\u00a0<em>presumed title<\/em>\u2014 that is, a first name that gives the impression that you have a title, such as\u00a0<em>Lord<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Baron<\/em>, or\u00a0<em>Princess<\/em><\/li><li>gives the impression that you have honours, e.g. surnames ending with\u00a0<em>OBE<\/em>or\u00a0<em>VC<\/em><\/li><li>is a single name\u00a0\u2014 that is, a first name only, with no surname<\/li><\/ul><p>1.2.8. Sequential Updating of Records:<\/p><p>Record holders sometimes require that you provide proof that you are using your name\u00a0<em>for all purposes<\/em>, in which case they will want to see additional documentary evidence in your new name.\u00a0 This is known to be the case when you want to renew your passport in your new name and:<\/p><ul><li>HM Passport Office considers your new name to be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deedpolloffice.com\/change-name\/restrictions-on-names#unusual-or-frivolous-name-changes\">unusual or made for a frivolous purpose<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/deedpolloffice.com\/advice\/transgender\">you are transgender\u00a0\/ transsexual<\/a>and you want to update the\u00a0<em>gender<\/em>\u00a0in your passport, and you are unable to provide medical evidence confirming that the orientation to your changed gender is likely to be permanent<\/li><li>you are a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deedpolloffice.com\/change-name\/who-can-change-their-name#british-national-abroad\">British national living abroad<\/a>and you want to update your passport whilst you are abroad<\/li><\/ul><p>Some organisations\u00a0\u2014 notably the General Medical Council (if you are a doctor listed on the Medical Register), and some financial institutions\u00a0\u2014 insist on seeing your updated passport in your new name, or other additional documentary evidence in your new name, before they change their own records.\u00a0 The General Medical Council insist on seeing both your old and new passports.<\/p><p>The acceptance guarantee does not apply if a record holder requires additional documentary evidence and your deed poll is rejected.\u00a0 You will need to update your documents in a certain order, that is, to obtain additional documentary evidence in your new name so you can provide it to the record holder that requires it.<\/p><p>1.2.9. Lack of Mental Capacity:<\/p><ul><li>Guarantee is void if the applicant lacks mental capacity for decision-making.<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"2\"><li><strong> Unacceptable Names<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>We reserve the right to refuse applications containing names chosen for fraudulent purposes or those potentially violating the law or ethical standards.<\/p><p>We will refuse a deed poll application with any name that:<\/p><ul><li>we have reason to believe is chosen with the intention of committing fraud<\/li><li>is (potentially) against the law\u00a0\u2014 e.g. anything that promotes racial or religious hatred, derides minority groups, or promotes the use of drugs<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"3\"><li><strong> About Our Service<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>For detailed pricing and payment terms, please refer to our price list. Payment is required upfront before processing begins.
